Dave Lee Shavey

Dave Lee Shavey, 83, entered into rest on Monday, October 28, 2013.

Mr. Shavey was born on February 2, 1930 in Minneapolis, Kansas to the late Darrel Ned Shavey and Lela G. Shavey. With courage and commitment, he served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. Dave was a Pharmacist with Walgreen's Pharmacy.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Mary Sue Shavey, Byron, Georgia; daughters, Cindy Lohse (Bill), Fort Smith, Arkansas; Cheryl Withey, Lisa Melton (Paul), all of Byron, Georgia; son, Darrell Shavey, Colorado; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a large second family at Emeritus at Flint River.

The family will have a private memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Mr. Shavey. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be given to Emeritus at Flint River, 250 Water Tower Court, Macon, Georgia 31210 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.
