Deborah Atkinson Story

January 5, 1956 — February 17, 2008

Deborah Atkinson Story, 52, went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 17, 2008. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Perry United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jenny Jackson-Adams officiating. Interment will follow at the Magnolia Park Cemetery in Warner Robins. Visitation will be at McCullough Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Debbie was born on January 5, 1956 in Ocilla, Georgia but lived most of her life in Houston County, Georgia, where she graduated from Northside High School in 1974. She was very active and successful in the Warner Robins Business Community, owning and operating the Collection Bureau of Houston County for a number of years. She most recently served as a Real Estate Agent with Golden Key Realty. She was a member of the Warner Robins Area Chamber of Commerce, the Central Georgia Board of Realtors, where she was a perennial member of the $1, 000, 000 Club, and a member of the Warner Robins Civitan Club. She was especially proud to call Perry United Methodist Church her Christian Home.

Debbie is the daughter of Latrelle Atkinson, and the late Dillard Atkinson. She is survived by her loving companion, Jim McClarnon; her sons, Mark Scarborough and Kevin Scarborough, both of Atlanta; two sisters, Tammy Atkinson and Denise Atkinson, both of Warner Robins; a brother, Allen Atkinson of Santa Cruz, California; and many cherished friends. Debbie enjoyed decorating her home with beautiful antiques and flowers, always offering a warm welcome that included being met by Nic Nic and Ginger, her two dogs that she loved. Debbie had a tremendous business mind, but when asked, she always counted the greatest accomplishments of her life to be her sons, Mark and Kevin, who she loved very much. She was always quick to tell everyone about them, and was proud to say that Mark is a graduate of Georgia College and State University, and is now a Regional Sales Executive with Mabis Healthcare and that Kevin is a graduate student in the Mechanical Engineering program at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
