Dellis Mcduffie

Dellis McDuffie went home to the Lord surrounded by loving family on October 18, 2014. He is survived by his two loving daughters Deleta Faye McDuffie-Basile (Jim) of Pensacola, FL and Michelle Lee McDuffie of Warner Robins, brothers George McDuffie and Franklin McDuffie (Mary Lee) of Fitzgerald, GA, sisters Nellie Jones, Annie Ruth Gideons, Margret McCall (Jimmy), MaryWyl Melton of Fitzgerald, GA, and his granddaughters whom he adored Samantha Dills of Atlanta, GA, Sabrina Dills and Savannah Dills of Warner Robins, GA. He also will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Dellis was preceded in death by his parents George and Bessie, his brother Donald, sister Mattie Maude, and his loving wife Faye.

Dellis was born in Hawkinsville, GA and grew up learning his life long work ethic on a farm in Wilcox county GA. When his call came in 1952, he served his country first in the Army for four years and then in the Coast Guard for fifteen years. After his years of honorable service, he worked as a boilermaker and retired after a long career at Warner Robins Air Force base.

Dellis served his community as well as a member and Past Master of Macon Lodge #5 F&AM. He also held offices in the York and Scottish Rite Bodies, the Al Sihah Shrine Temple, and was Past Patron of The Order of the Eastern Star Lizella Chapter. Bro Dellis also served as District 6 Deputy to the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in GA.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be private.

While missed by all we are comforted that Dellis McDuffie lived a purposeful life, free of regrets.
