Delores W. "Boots" Nelson

June 21, 1931 — May 8, 2020

Delores W. “Boots” Nelson, 88, of Warner Robins, GA, went peacefully into the arms of her Savior on May 8, 2020.

Boots was born in Macon, Georgia on June 21, 1931, the daughter of the late Gostin and Louvenia Williams. Following her graduation in 1949 from Miller High School of Macon, she attended a local business college where she earned a diploma and began her career as a legal secretary. Boots later moved to Houston County where she raised her children and had a fulfilling career in the banking industry, retiring from Wachovia Bank. Boots was an active member of the Pilot Club of Warner Robins and enjoyed a life-long friendship with her fellow ladies. Above all things, Boots was devoted to her family and was a doting Mother and Grandmother. She was a great southern cook who enjoyed hosting family gatherings and serving those she loved. She could often be found on Saturday nights at the VFW or the DAV, dancing the night away.

Boots was preceded in death by her late husband, Charles F. Nelson and the father of her children, James H. “Jimmy” Watson. Her memory will be forever treasured by her children, Jim Watson (Ronda) of Warner Robins, Carol Reagan (Alan) of Kathleen, Bob Watson of Macon, Bill Watson of Warner Robins; stepson, Ray Nelson (Jodi) of Roswell; grandchildren, Nichole Exley (Rhett) of Cumming, Tyler Forrester (Drew) of St. Simons Island, James Henry Watson of Bonaire, Kristin Davis (Michael) of Dublin, Brice Watson of Dublin, Gostin Watson of Macon, Garrett Cox of Warner Robins; great-grandchildren, cousins and a multitude of friends.

During this time of sorrow, the family is thankful for your thoughts and prayers as private funeral services will be held for the immediate family only. Boots will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Magnolia Park Cemetery located at 205 S. Pleasant Hill Rd. in Warner Robins on Sunday, May 10, 2020.
