Demetria Annette Jackson

Demetria Jackson, 55, became a beautiful angel on the morning of Monday, September 3, 2018.

Demetria was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 12, 1963 to Theresa DeVore Johnson and the late Herman Johnson. A career military wife and mother, she loved being involved with her daughters’ activities when they were younger and was a much-loved Girl Scouts’ mother. Demetria also enjoyed working in a flower shop for many years. She visited Sandy Valley Baptist Church and loved crafts, cooking, and playing Bingo in her free time. Her strong will and zest for life will always be remembered by all who knew her.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 36 years, Antoine Jackson of Warner Robins; daughters, Alida Jackson of Goldsboro, North Carolina and La’Shaunda Jackson of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Amara and Annalysia Lymuel, and Aubrey Varney; mother, Theresa and siblings, Kermit, Edwin, and Sonja Johnson, all of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Sandy Valley Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Phil Bryant officiating.

The family will accept flowers, or donations may be given in memory of Demetria to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Ste 300, Rockville, MD 20852, kidneyfund.org or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215, www.diabetes.org.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. Jackson’s arrangements.
