Donald Joe Bass

Donald "Don" Joe Bass, Sr., 73, left this world surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, December 14, 2010.

Don was born on April 17, 1937 in Augusta. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army, then as a Supervisor in civil service at Robins Air Force Base before retiring. He later worked at Eddie Wiggins Pontiac and GMC auto dealership as a shuttle driver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Meeks Bass; parents, Joe Henry Brown and Alice Smith Brown; grandson, Dustin Bass; and step-son, Vance Pike.

His memory will forever be treasured by his son, Donald Joe Bass, Jr., (Sheree), Macon; step-son, Kenneth G. Pike (Susan), Pilot Mountain, North Carolina; siblings, James W. Bass (Amanda), Florida, Alfred J. Brown (Betty), Alabama, and James Phil Brown (Diane), Eastman; and ten grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
