Donna Collins Hamrick

Donna Collins Hamrick, 63, entered into rest on Monday, December 23, 2013.

Donna was born on June 16, 1950 at Emory Hospital in Decatur, Georgia. She grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta and received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia. She worked as a computer programmer for many years and currently worked for SAIC.

Donna loved traveling, reading, reading about traveling, cooking and gardening. She and her husband always had many dogs and cats that they loved to take care of.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, Richard Michael Hamrick, Perry, Georgia; daughter, Jill Boyers (Cam), Naples, Florida; and grandson, Baylor. She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Battle Collins, her father, Jesse Thomas Collins, and her brother, Jesse Thomas Collins, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Perry. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to Perry Animal Shelter, Attn: Angie Reed, 1207 Washington Street, Perry, GA 31069.
