Dorcas Baker Moore

Dorcas was born on May 23, 1926 in Lafayette, Georgia to the late Clifford and Sarah Baker. Following her graduation from Lafayette High School, she continued her education at West Georgia College. Later, Dorcas retired from Robins Air Force Base where she taught correspondence. She lived in Warner Robins for over 50 years and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Warner Robins. Dorcas relocated to Gray, Georgia 17 years ago to be closer to family. She became a member of First Baptist Church of Gray and served as the President of the Women's Missionary Union at both churches. Dorcas enjoyed sewing however, her greatest joy came from time spent with her beloved family.

Along with her parents, her sister, Geneva Ziegler, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughters, Gail Daugherty (Jim) of Gray, Gwen Hobbs (Danny) of Evans; grandchildren, Elizabeth Whitehurst (Wes), Hannah Brown (Chris), Rachel Daugherty, Sarah Newman (Stephen), Naomi Long (Dallas), Daniel Hobbs, Ruth Daugherty (Mark), Lydia Roberson (Jonathan), James Daugherty, John Daugherty, Joshua Daugherty, Rebekah Daugherty, Joanna Daugherty, Joseph Daugherty; great grandchildren, Callie and Levi Whitehurst, Emmeline and Abigail Brown, Cohen and Walker Long, Darby Rose Thompson, Jaden and Gabriel Newman, and sister, Elva Combs.

Visitation with Dorcas's family will be Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Gray. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. After the service, Dorcas will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery in Warner Robins at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Randy Darnell will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions can be made in memory of Dorcas Baker Moore to the Great Commission Offering at First Baptist Church of Gray, 134 W. Clinton St, Gray, Georgia 31032.
