Doris G. Mason

Doris Gene Highsmith Mason, 84, entered into rest at her home at 231 Fairways Drive after an extended illness on Saturday, February 18, 2012.

Ms. Mason was born on September 22, 1927, in Folkston, Georgia. A devoted homemaker, she was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel D. Mason; parents, Allen Highsmith and Fanny Young Highsmith; and brothers, Edward and Johnny Highsmith.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Nancy Smith (Larry), Warner Robins; grandchild, Heather Smith (Erica), Savannah; great-grandchild: Andrea Boyer; brothers, Richard Highsmith (Betty) and Lavelle Highsmith (Elsie). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Serenity Hospice Care, 1057 North Houston Road, Warner Robins GA 31093 or the Macon Rescue Mission, 774 Hazel Street, Macon GA 31201.

Visitation will be Monday, February 20, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Society Hill Cemetery in Fort Valley.
