Dorothy J. Guy

Dorothy Jean Guy, 86, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.

Mrs. Guy was born on May 11, 1927 in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Walter and Florence Fossett Holland. She was a longtime dedicated member of First United Methodist Church and active with the Sonshine Group. Dorothy had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior; her family was the focus of her life, truly enjoying spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. An avid gardener, she loved working in her beautiful flower gardens. She also enjoyed eating out. Her parents, her beloved husband, Weaver Onree "Jack" Guy, Sr., two sons, Dennis Ray Guy and W.O. "Jack" Guy, Jr., two brothers, Jack and Leon Holland; and great grandson, Michael Guy, all preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Gail Davis (James), Perry; Gary Guy, Byron; Donna Benningfield Jessup, Warner Robins; sister, Patsy Ireland, Independence, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jimmy Davis, Gina Davis, Don Guy, Tammy Giles and Traci Johnson; eight great grandchildren; dedicated caregiver, Sophia Redding, her faithful furry companion, Macy; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 14, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
