Douglas Julian Bolding

Douglas J. Bolding, 89, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 12, 2011.

Mr. Bolding was born on November 3, 1921 in Michie, Tennessee. Sgt Bolding was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII and was one of four survivors from his company during the battle of the Bulge. After thirty years of civil service, Douglas retired from Robins Air Force Base where he was an Aircraft Inspector Engineer. A faithful servant of the Lord, he was an active member of Warner Robins Church of Christ. His first wife of fifty six years, Muriel Bolding; parents, Julius Young Bolding and Mattye Jordan Bolding; and sister, Miriam Bomar, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Mary Bolding, Warner Robins; daughters, Sunya McLendon (Tom), Byron; Charlotte Craddock, Albany; step children, Pam Hall, Huntsville, Alabama; Joe Lee, Warner Robins; Melanie McVey, Douglasville; Beth Lee, Savannah; Jake Lee, Valdosta; grandchildren, Kim McLendon Hutzler, Ryan McLendon, both of San Antonio, Texas; Summer Craddock, Pennsylvania; Erika Baumgartel, Albany; step grandchildren, Wendy and Rebecca Hall; and Andrew, Amy, David, and Amber McVey; four great grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Johnsey, Huntsville, Alabama; and brother, James Bolding, Memphis, Tennessee.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 16, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2011, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to the donor's favorite charity.
