Edvaldo Rodrigues Calvao, age 67, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Warner Robins on April 1, 2021.
He was born in Palmeiras de Goiás, in the state of Goiás, Brazil, on June 16, 1953. He was the son of the late Rev. Lawrance Anthony Brown and Elizabeth Jane Hughes Brown. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Euza Oliveira.
Ed was a man who was fiercely devoted in his walk with the Lord. A former worship leader at Shalom Christian Fellowship, he made it a priority every morning to read his Bible in order to grow closer in his relationship with Christ. Ed spent most of his life working with numbers, first as a teacher and later as a business owner in Brazil and then in the United States. He liked numbers because of their preciseness and perfection. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed watching YouTube with his grandchildren as well as spending time with his family.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Selma Calvao; children, Daniel Rodrigues Calvao (Jennifer) of Centerville and Eliane O’Leary (James) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Natalie Calvao, Alexa Calvao, Ethan O’Leary, Elizabeth O’Leary, Logan O’Leary, Hannah O’Leary, and Lillian O’Leary; siblings, Harry Brown (Eliedina), Ellis Brown (Sonia), Eude Calvao (Teresa), Eunice Fontes (Adailton), Eurides Fontes (Agnaldo); brother-in-law, Odonaldo Oliveira; and Rafaela Rios (Otavio), an exchange student who was like a daughter to him.
His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with burial immediately following at Parkway Memorial Gardens. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
