Eddie Mae Tanner Norris

November 11, 1912 — April 14, 2002

Eddie Mae Tanner Norris, 89, died Sunday, April 14 at home following a period of declining health. Services will be at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16 at Central Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Dr. James O. Dorriety, Rev. Sydney Odom, and Dr. Owen Bozeman will officiate. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:0pm at McCullough Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Joy in the Journey Building Fund, Central Baptist Church, 1647 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins, 31093; Hospice of Houston County, 2066 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins, 31088; or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Mrs. Norris was born in Wrightsville, GA. She was retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base after 32 years. A Charter Member of Central Baptist Church, Mrs. Norris was in the Ruth Sunday School Class and for a number of years taught an eleven year-old girls Sunday School Class. She was very active in both the WMU, where she served as President, as well as the International Ministry at the church. Additionally, she was a member of the Sukey Hart DAR and the Bud-n-Bloom Garden Club. Her interests in horticulture won her many awards. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Norris and her daughter, Ann N. Podskoc.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail N. Spivey and son-in-law, Dr. J.W. Spivey, Jr. of Bonaire; sisters, Eugenia Price of Dublin; Nina Yeomans of Macon; Faye Jolley of Wrightsville; six grandchildren and their spouses, John and Lisa Podskoc of Woodstock; Robbie and Danny White of Milledgeville; Steve and Terry Podskoc of Rockmart; Michael and Sandi Podskoc of Warner Robins; Scott and Jacki Spivey of Macon; Mark and Sara Spivey, also of Macon; as well as ten great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
