Edith L. Meek

Edith Meek, 88, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2006. Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2006, in the McCullough Funeral Home with interment will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Red Cross.

Mrs. Meek was born on May 3, 1918 in Harrison County, West Virginia. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vera Beach, and was a proud volunteer with Red Cross. Her loving husband, Denver C. Meek, her parents, Chester Elliott and Ollie Griffin Elliott, and a grandson, John D. Moore preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Moore of Bacliff, TX; Sarah Orgel (Frank) of Albany, GA; Donna Boyett (Willard) of Warner Robins; Dorothy Sulsberger of Alpharetta, GA; her brother, George W. Elliott of Clarksburg, WV; her sister-in-law, Helen Meek of Chapmanville, WV; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
