July 22, 1932 — February 20, 2021

Edith Ward Helms, 88, is holding hands again with her beloved husband, Kenneth Eugene Helms, in Heaven. She passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Born in Washington, Indiana, on July 22, 1932, Edith was the daughter of the late George and Mildred Ward. In her earlier years, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School to five-and six-year-olds. Edith was also a loyal choir member and visited many church members in their homes in times of need. Her legacy of unconditional love will continue to bless generations to come.

In addition to Edith’s husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Vonlue McEwen and Virgil Ward.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Deborah Helms Long, Denise Crabtree (Mack), David Helms (Lisa) and Dennis Helms (Carrie); grandchildren, Joshua Pettis, Leslie Jenkins (Timothy), Brian Pettis (Brittney), Sarah Pickell (Brandon), Stephen Long, Kristopher Helms (Michaela, Tansy), Neal Helms, Kenneth Helms (Jayme), David Hayward Helms and Zachary Helms; and great-grandchildren, Trevor and William Jenkins, Briley and Brison Pettis, Noah, Charlotte and Lila Kate Pickell and David Helms.
