On the morning of Sunday, December 16, 2018, Bette King joined her beloved husband, Arnold C. King in heaven. She was 93 years old.
Bette was born in Lamont, Iowa on July 23, 1925 to the late John M. and Ester Reiger. She retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. A devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bette was a much-loved member of the Golden Hearts Seniors and dearly loved her church family. She was a member of the NARFE, as well. Bette lived a life full of family, friends, and love. May she rest forever in the peace of Christ.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Lawrence E. King; and her great-great-grandson, Ryan King.
Bette’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving sons, George R. King (Rosemary) of Washington and John W. King (Tami) of Centerville; grandchildren, Kelli Renee, Larry Shane, Kathi Marie, Justin Ryan, Ericka, Kimberly, G. Brandon, Gregory, and J. Daniel; great-grandchildren, John David, Linda Marie, Kaley Sheree, Marcus, Kyle Ed, Shane Michael, Jake, Tameron, Haley Elizabeth, Megan Elizabeth, Madeline May, and Jordan Nathaniel; six great-great-grandchildren; and brother, John R. Reiger of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska.
A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 at McCullough Funeral Home with visitation following until 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor Fred Nijem and Deacon Jim Hunt officiating. Bette will be laid to rest in Memphis Memory Gardens in Memphis, TN at a later date.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Bette King to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, 300 S. Davis Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. King’s arrangements.
