Elizabeth Griffin Newsome

Elizabeth Griffin Newsome, 102, died at home on Wednesday, September 24, 2008.

Mrs. Newsome was born October 1906, at Griffin Plantation in Wilcox County, Alabama. She married her loving husband, Pressley I. Newsome, in 1929. She was the oldest charter member of Central Baptist Church of Warner Robins. Her husband, Pressley I. Newsome, and parents, David and Mary Hughes Griffin, preceded her in death.

Her memory will always be treasured by her son, David Newsome, Warner Robins; daughters, Mary Ceci, Tallahassee, and Sara Satterfield, Perry; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 28, 2008, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2008, in Central Baptist Church following the visitation, Reverend Sydney Odom and Dr. Dan Ariail officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Memorial may be given to Hospice Care Options, 1125 Walnut Street, Macon GA 31201, or to Central Baptist Church-The Next Horizon, 1120 Lake Joy Road, Warner Robins GA 31088.
