Elizabeth P. Sanders

Elizabeth P. Sanders, 88, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020.

Born in Macon County, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Felix L. and Thelma Farr Peed. She was a proud graduate of Crawford County High School, class of 1949.

Elizabeth retired from Robins Air Force Base after a long career as an Engineering Data Management Officer. A devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Warner Robins prior to moving to Evans, Georgia, Elizabeth was part of the Asbury Sunday school class. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States of America as well as the world. Elizabeth was a member of the Turtle Club in Warner Robins, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Wendell Sanders, Sr.; daughter, Debora Walker; stepson, Dewey Kerrell Bass; step-grandson, Sam Stinson; and sister, Estelle Pyles.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Cheryl McDowell (Randy) of Evans; Stan Childres (Vickie) of Barnesville; step-children, Debra Stinson (Dennis) of Cochran, Patricia Mayo (Bill) of Hawkinsville; Karen Sanders of Valdosta; Marvin Sanders, Jr. (Melanie) of Hubert, N.C.; grandchildren, Matthew McDowell (Jamie), Lindsay McDowell, Bryan Walker (Bonda), Wendy Perry; step-grandchildren, Michelle Waters (Russell), Stacey Hart (Robbie), John William Mao (Christina), Patrick Mayo, Daniel Mayo, James Rich (Ashley), Kelsey Griggs (Christopher), Hayley Rich, Wendell Sanders (Teal), Kimberly Conway (Nathan); and 23 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Immediately following the service family will receive friends. At the family’s request and for the safety of all who are attending, please wear a mask or a facial covering.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Elizabeth P. Sanders to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or the Methodist Home For Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Ave., Macon, Georgia 31204, or to Washington Commons Retirement Community, Elizabeth’s home for the last 4 years, to help establish a memorial garden at Washington Commons, 100 Washington Commons Dr., Evans, Georgia 30809.
