Elizabeth Spires Mccarty

Elizabeth McCarty, 64, went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 9, 2016.

Elizabeth was born on June 22, 1951 in Macon, Georgia and was of the Baptist faith. A lifelong resident of the middle Georgia area, she retired from Bassett Furniture as a machine operator. Ms. McCarty enjoyed reading, flower arranging, and scrapbooking, but most of all, she loved spoiling and doting on her grandchildren. Her strong faith, love, and hope will forever live in hearts of her family.

Ms. McCarty was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Louise Gilbert Spires; stepsons, Michael and Danny McCarty; grandson, Christopher Waszczak; brothers, Donald and William Spires; and sisters, Julia Swann and Becky Boatner.

She leaves her memory behind with her loving children, Donna Clark (Mark) of Byron and Deneice Herrera (Javier) of Warner Robins; stepchildren, Brenda and Timothy McCarty; grandchildren, Jason Birmingham, Ashley Morgan (Stephen), Spencer Hines, Justin and Jonathan Clark, Alexander Herrera, Cheyanne and Theresa Ramirez, and Jaqueline Sayers; four great-grandchildren and one on the way;
brothers, Sammy Spires and Ronnie Spires (Ann); and a number of adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeff Cleghorn officiating. Following the service, Elizabeth will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Elizabeth to the Salvation Army Safe House, P.O. Box 2408, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
