Ellen Rose "Mary" Scalf

June 9, 1942 — December 21, 2020

Ellen “Mary” Rose Scalf, 78, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020, at Regency Hospital in Macon, Georgia.

Born on June 9, 1942, in San Francisco, California, Mary was the daughter of the late Dorothy Helen and Charles Anthony Lombardi. Raised by her grandmother, Josephine Mary Lombardi, Mary grew up in Southern California and graduated from Ramona High School in Riverside, California, in 1961. Shortly after her high school graduation, on May 20, 1961, she wedded the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Jackie “Jack” Dwayne Scalf. Mary was a faithful Air Force wife and moved alongside her husband to several places to include Alaska, Okinawa, and finally Spring Lake, North Carolina, where they lived for 46 years. No matter where they landed, Mary enjoyed making their house a home. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, baking, and cake decorating. In 2016, they moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, to be closer to family. Of the Baptist faith, she became a devoted member of Mikado Baptist Church, in Macon, Georgia, where she was involved with the GYP, Senior Saints, and enjoyed singing in the choir. A known prayer warrior, Mary enjoyed reading her Bible and being a Godly influence to the young women within the church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, wonderful mother, and most of all, a true servant of her Lord, Jesus Christ.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 59 years, Jackie “Jack” Dwayne Scalf; children, J.D. Scalf (Heather) of Arlington, Texas; Robin McClay (Vic) and Tony Scalf (Kimberly) all of Warner Robins, Georgia; and 7 beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandmother.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. Scalf will be held at Mikado Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Ellen “Mary” Rose Scalf to the Mikado Baptist Church Building Fund, 6751 Houston Road, Macon, Georgia 31216.
