Emily Melissa Mooring

Emily Smith Mooring, 82, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Medical Center of Macon. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2008 in the in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with entombment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. There will not be a procession or cemetery service. The family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2008.

Emily was born the daughter of Ed and Anna McCollum Smith of Savannah, Tennessee, on August 9, 1925. She married James Clayborn Mooring on December 19, 1943. As the mother of six, she still managed a career at Robins Air Force Base retiring after 30 years of service. She was a Christian woman of great faith. She was preceded in death by her husband and by her son Michael. Cherishing her memory are sons, Jim Mooring, Nashville, Tennessee, Ron Mooring, Warner Robins, Robert Mooring, Pineview; daughters Anna Mooring Pender, Warner Robins and Risa Mooring Watson, North Little Rock, Arkansas; sister, Mary Smith Williamson and brother Robert Smith.

She was the matriarch of six children, sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
