Emory Ellis Simpson

August 12, 1922 — January 12, 2003

Mr. Emory Simpson, 80, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2003 at Houston Medical Center. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 15 in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Rev. Tim Millwood will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 1322 Feagin Mill Road, Warner Robins, GA, 31088.

Mr. Simpson was born in Summitt, Alabama. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army Air Corp. He was retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. He was a Charter Member of Friendship Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and in the Men’s 1 Sunday School Class. He was the 1993 Brotherhood Man of the Year at Green Acres Baptist Church, where he had also been a Charter Member. Additionally, he had been the Director of the Associational Brotherhood and a Sunday School Teacher. His parents, Emory S. and Mary Jane Simpson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine “Jo” Simpson, Warner Robins; son, Dane Alan Simpson, and wife Brenda, Jonesboro, GA; daughter, Donna Simpson Wood, and husband Jeffrey, Tuscaloosa, AL; son, Mark Anthony Simpson, and wife Deborah, Stafford, VA; daughter, Lisa Grace McGuire, and husband Eugene, Warner Robins; sister, Lilly Bell Mote, Winder; sister, Magdalene Simpson, Winder, GA; brother, Wade Calvin Simpson, Warner Robins; sister, Almeda Smith, Winder; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
