Ernest Arthur Overcash

Ernest Arthur Overcash, 85, entered into rest on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ernest was born on December 15, 1931 in Rowan County, North Carolina, the youngest of six children to the late Demps Vernon Overcash and Mary Deal Overcash. Ernest graduated from Landis High School in Landis, North Carolina and went on to serve in the United States Army. He later retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base. Remembered as someone who always put family and friends first, Ernest was a compassionate and loving man with an intense zeal for life. His friends and family will not forget his kindness and love. His daughter, Teresa Dawn Overcash; his brothers, Vernon, Wilburn, Ray, and Everette Overcash; and his sister, Louise Overcash all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his long-time companion and best friend, Martha Umberger of Warner Robins; his children, Deborah Wiggins (Randy) of Gray and Chris Overcash (Lori) of Bonaire; his grandchildren, Wil Wiggins (Tonya) of Gray, Valerie Thomas (Trey) of Warner Robins, Courtney Harris (Travis) of Atlanta, Naomi Stewart (Sean) of Warner Robins, and Bailey Overcash of Bonaire; great-grandchildren, Allie and Reece Wiggins of Gray and Kaeden, Jebediah, and Emma Thomas of Warner Robins; and eight nieces and nephews.

Visitation with Mr. Overcash's family will be Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Hutto officiating. Inurnment will be private. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Cure Childhood Cancer, 1117 Perimeter Center West, Suite N402, Atlanta, Georgia 30338.
