Ernestine W. Rhea

September 8, 1935 — May 21, 2017

Ernestine Rhea, 81, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven on Sunday, May 21, 2017.

Mrs. Rhea was born on September 8, 1935 in Rockford, Tennessee to the late Ernest and Maybelle Largent Wilson. An outstanding homemaker, she was the devoted wife of Thomas "T.R." Rhea, to whom she was married for 64 years. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Rhea was beyond compare and she embraced these roles selflessly. Her life of service also extended to her church home, First Baptist Church of Centerville, where she enjoyed involvement in many capacities including singing in the choir and ensembles and playing handbells. Mrs. Rhea was an exceptional role model with a servant's heart, both at home and for the Lord, praying without ceasing for her family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed growing daylilies and other flowers. But, most of all, she treasured the time spent surrounded by her family and loved ones. Her sister, Margaret Sands preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband; T.R. Rhea of Bonaire; children, David Rhea (Devonna) of Niceville, Florida, Karen Crosson (Dale) of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Kristy Harper (Jeff), Matthew Crosson (Jessica), Michelle Fuller (Gene), Lisa Lybrand (Chris), and Adam Crosson; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Reverend Eugene Wilson (Peggy) of Griffin, Georgia; MacArthur Wilson of Beaufort, South Carolina; sister, Penny Morrison of Mableton, Georgia, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with Mrs. Rhea's family will be Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating her life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, Mrs. Rhea will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
