Erwin R. Silsbee, Sr.

August 4, 1917 — February 28, 2006

E. R. (Randy) Silsbee, Sr., 88, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 in his home. Visitation will be Saturday, March 4, 2006 from 3 until 5 PM at McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Museum of Aviation, P.O. Box 2469, Warner Robins, Georgia 31099.

Mr. Silsbee was born on August 4, 1917 in Buffalo, New York. He served for twenty years in the United States Air Force and the World War II as a Fighter Pilot. He worked for thirty-six years in civil service at Robins Air Force Base as a Graphic Illustrator. Mr. Silsbee designed the main Star and Bar Museum Building at the Museum of Aviation. After many years of hard work he retired at the age of 78. His wife of 34 years, Fredrica O’Callaghan Silsbee; parents, Walker and Lottie Orr Silsbee, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters, Dea Wade; Sue Slupe; sons, Lad Silsbee; Tom Silsbee; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
