Eugene E. Willis, Sr

Eugene Edgar Willis Sr., 76, died Tuesday May 17, 2005 at the home of his son after a long illness. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 19, 2005 at McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2005 from 7 until 9 PM at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Houston County, 103 Westridge Drive Warner Robins, Georgia 31088, Bonaire United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 250 Bonaire, Georgia 31005 or Ruth Baptist Church, Cochran, Georgia.

Mr. Willis was born January 12, 1929 in Omega GA. He retired from Robins Air Force Base where he was employed as a sheet metal mechanic. He was known on the CB radio as Green Turtle. He was a former resident of Cochran and member of Ruth Baptist Church in Cochran. He was also a longtime Mason and a member of the Tyrian Lodge # 111. His parents, Edgar Perry and Bessie Pettitt Willis, his wife of 47 years, Eloise Register Willis and step-daughter, Nancy Spell Jones, preceded him in death. Survivors include his sons and daughters- in laws, Eugene E. Jr. and Vicki Willis of Warner Robins; James and Sharn Willis of Cochran; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Edward Bowen of Guyton; sister, Mrs. Hazel Weeks, Norman Park; brother, Tommy and Carolyn Willis of Norman Park; granddaughters Anita and Todd Kimberly, Jennifer Bowen Ayer, Heather Jones and Emma Willis; grandsons, Jacob and Thomas Willis; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Hannah Kimberly, Warner Robins; Logan and Bobbie Ayer, Guyton; several nieces and nephews.
