Evelyn L. Braswell

On the evening of Saturday, February 24, 2018, Evelyn Braswell, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior.

Mrs. Braswell was born on November 24, 1928 in Dooly County, Georgia to the late Shepard and Beulah Thompson Lewis. After graduating from Dooly County High School, she met the love of her life, the late, Henry Grady Braswell, Jr. in Cordele. They married and later moved to Warner Robins where he worked at Robins Air Force Base and she served her family as a devoted homemaker. Mrs. Braswell enjoyed reading, working word search puzzles, knitting and crocheting. A gentle soul, she loved everyone and everyone loved her in return. Mrs. Braswell never had anything negative to say about anyone, she would often say, “If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all”. She was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church and the Faith and Harmony Sunday school class.

Her two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her sons, David Braswell (Linda) of Macon, Kevin Braswell (Lynette) of Lizella; grandchildren, Jason Braswell (Angie), Matt Braswell, Marchelle Braswell, Danielle Braswell, Jessica Sambulski, Krystal Braswell; step-grandchildren, Jeremy Holbrook, Amanda Holbrook; 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild.

Visitation will be Monday, February 26, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Mrs. Braswell will be laid to rest in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
