Flossie Lamar Dover

September 27, 1941 — April 23, 2021

Flossie Lamar Dover of Warner Robins passed away at her residence on Friday, April 23, 2021. She was 79 years old.

Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on September 27, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Percy Eaves and Lois Buchanan. Flossie grew up in Cleveland, Tennessee and it was there that she met and married the love of her life, Eldon Dover, in 1957. The couple was devoted to each other for 43 years until his passing several years ago. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.

Flossie loved to travel with her husband during his military career. Her favorite duty station was in Yuma, Arizona. She and Eldon settled in Warner Robins in the early 1980s and it became her home. She worked at Robins Air Force Base for many years before she retired. In the 1990s, Flossie and Eldon bought a Winnebago and hit the road in their traveling home on wheels.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 172, who enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including ceramics. She was a devoted follower of Northside High School football and was a supporter of the program for a number of years. Most of all, Flossie was a kind lady, who doted on her children, grandchildren and friends, although she could still be sassy when she got in the mood.

Left to cherish Flossie’s memory are her children, Dillard Dover, Tammy Dover, Larry Dover, and Kara Smith (Marty); grandchildren, Stephen Richardson, Brandon Dover, Rachel Dover, Aaron Harbin, Samantha Dover, and Bryan Dover; great grandson, Aleksandar Kyser; and best friend for more than 60 years, Irene Rodda.
