Frances Lorene Bass

Frances Lorene Bass of Macon, Georgia, passed away on April 7, 2017. The matriarch of a very large and loving family, she was a kind and loving soul who will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Bass was born in Milan, Georgia on November 15, 1929, the daughter of the late Colan Francis "Sib" and Maude Cravey Beasley; she was a longtime member of Avondale Baptist Church in Macon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald T. Bass; daughter, Gwen Stafford; son in law, Sam Stafford and brother, Colan Thomas Beasley.

Survivors include her devoted daughters, Pat Christenberry (Ken) of Knoxville, Tennessee; Brenda Smith (Bill) of Hoschton, Georgia; Donna Hemphill (Everett); Diane Greene (Mike) of Byron, Georgia. Mrs. Bass was truly blessed with twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; along with two dear and loving sisters, Sue Burkhalter of Milledgeville, Georgia and Faye Bell of Conyers, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews and her dearest friend for over sixty years, Mrs. Betty Bass.

The family would like to acknowledge the kind and loving care Mrs. Bass received during the last couple of years from the staff at John Wesley Villas in Macon, Georgia.

Interment will be private. A celebration of life will be held at Avondale Baptist Church on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. The family will greet family and friends immediately following the service. Reverend Foster Bell will be officiating.
