Frank Cross

October 13, 1930 — December 30, 2020

Frank Cross passed away on December 30, 2020.

In his 90 years on this Earth, Frank lived a full and fruitful life. He was born in his family’s sharecropping home on October 13, 1930, to the late Jack and Carrie Cross. He spent most of his young life working the land with his family. When he was 18 years old, Frank was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

After his service to his country, Frank married Betty Jean Cross. He then moved to Macon and worked at Colonial Bread before taking a position at Robins Air Force Base. In the 1950s, Frank and his wife made Warner Robins their home. Frank worked at Robins AFB for 35 years before his retirement. After he retired, Frank spent his time helping his children and grandchildren. He was a chauffeur for practices, games, and various activities for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. For his quiet time, Frank enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. A longtime member of Oakland Baptist Church, Frank was a behind-the-scenes kind of man. When a task needed to be done, Frank could be counted on to complete it.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, Elmer Cross, Louis Fowler, Jacqueline Dees and Billy Ray Cross.

Those who remain to treasure his memory include his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Cross; daughter, Jeanne McLarty (Terry) of Loganville, Georgia; son, Douglas Frank Cross (Julie) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Lori Allison Smith (Anthony), Joshua Daniel McLarty (Amy), Kaelie Denise Fetters (Joshua) and Carrie Elizabeth Cross; great grandchildren, Zachery Smith, Annie Jean Smith, Bryson Smith, Emeline McLarty, Odette McLarty, Lane Fetters and Grayson Fetters; siblings, Betty Jean Dunn, Gloria Oliver (Herman), Sandra Warnock (Foster), Carolyn Smith, and Darby Cross (Joy).
