George Walter Ray

On the morning of Monday, January 2, 2023, U.S. Army Veteran, George Walter Ray, passed away at age 74. He was born in Salt Lake City, UT on September 18, 1948, to the late Troy and Nerene Lichfield Ray. George wore many hats in the professional spectrum over the years, to include a machinist, successful chef at various large casinos in Las Vegas, and truck driver in a team he ran with his wife, Diana. He was also skillful at woodworking, building furniture and gunsmithing. When George wasn’t on the road or participating in one of his hobbies, you could find him watching television or doting on his beloved chihuahuas.

George is survived by his loving wife, Diana Ray of VA; children, Jeri Evans (Burt) of GA, Nina Pulsipher of FL and James Pulsipher of GA; stepchildren, Kathy Harris and Tim Eaton; brothers, Wyman Ray of WY and Bob Ray of NV; and other extended loving family members.

A celebration of life will take place in Virginia at a later date.
