George Wayne Hester

George Wayne Hester, 62, entered into rest on Saturday, February 12, 2011.

Mr. Hester was born on September 24, 1948 in Waycross, Georgia. With pride and honor he served in the United States Air Force, during the Vietnam era. A civil servant working at Robins Air Force Base he was in Aircraft Electronics. A lover of music and photography, he enjoyed taking pictures of musicians. His parents, Julian Hester and Frances Lott Hester, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his son Matthew Hester, Brevard, North Carolina; life partner, Cindy Douglas, Wrightsville; granddaughters, Tulsi Rain Johnson, Jillian Paige Hicks; siblings, Steve Hester, Waycross; Linda Spell, Blackshear; sistercuz, Karen Scarborough, Macon; brocuz George Brown, Jr, Atlanta; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with a visitation at 5:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private.
