Georgia Gibson "Gigi" Guice

July 1, 1925 — January 26, 2018

On the morning of Friday, January 26, 2018, ninety-two year old, Georgia Guice, went to be with her Lord and Savior.

GiGi was born on July 1, 1925, in Marshallville, Georgia to the late Gus and Atron Durham Gibson. A loving and devoted homemaker, she blessed her family with her wonderful ability to provide and serve those she loved and was closest too. GiGi’s family was her pride and joy, she loved them beyond measure especially her late husband, Lew. She and Lew were inseparable and committed in life and in death. Although widowed they enjoyed 67 years. GiGi had a special love for her great niece, Renee and her family, Janay and Javona. GiGi was a classy woman who loved luxury items, always dressed her best, and treated herself like a queen. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, dining out, bingo, and gambling, she was known as “Lady Luck”.

GiGi loved God, was passionate about Jesus, and faithfully attended Bethel Baptist Church in Marshallville. Those closest to GiGi would describe her as very social, strong-willed, snippy, and sometimes bossy, but truly the most amazing woman they knew. Along with her parents, her husband, Lew J. Guice, and son, Lewis Guice, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her grandson, Joseph Guice; niece, Dorothy Taylor, whom she trusted most; siblings, Minnie Lee Haslam and children (Norma Jean Leary and Otis Haslam) and brother, Willie Fields and family. GiGi also treasured her sister-in-laws Albertine and Dottie along with nephew Randy Franklin with whom she spent half the year in Fort Worth, Texas. Georgia and Lew J. had a special appreciation for Keith Gailes and his family, Keith was their go-to guy trusted and loyal.

She also leaves behind a host of great nieces and nephews, that she loved dearly,as well as close friends and caretakers, Phyllis Smith and Jevanka “J.J.” Johnson, who were the wings beneath GiGi’s feet.
