Gerry J. Golden

Gerry Golden, 79, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2015.

Sister Gerry was born on August 27, 1935 in Dodge County, Georgia to the late Mather Milton and Pearl Mullis Jones.

Dedicated to God from the time she was little, Gerry was the first of her siblings to be saved. In fact, she eventually led several of them to the Lord. She was a member of Second Baptist Church for many years before she was called into ministry, where she faithfully served a total of 46 years. With her husband by her side, Sister Gerry helped establish the Cochran Field Church of God in Macon, where she was the pastor for 38 years. Through the years she had many faithful members. Sister Gerry was often called upon for helping those in crisis and in times of need.

Gerry's love for the Lord was loud and clear. Her knowledge of the bible was powerful. She leaves a beautiful Christian legacy in the way she loved her family and lived her life. We were all so blessed to have known her.

Her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert D. Golden, Jr.; parents; five brothers; and three sisters, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Joy Norman (Mickey) of Columbus, Georgia, Kaye Hicks (Tim) of Tifton, Georgia, Keith Golden (Susan) of Dublin, Georgia, and Kim Dooley (Phil) of Warner Robins; eight grandchildren, Treva Nolen, Drew Norman, Jan Hicks McAliley, Ryan and Brooke Golden, and Nathan, Matthew, and Dawson Dooley; and five great-grandchildren, Grayson and Reese Nolen, Bethany Grace Dooley, Macikaye McAliley and Evie Norman.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Centerville Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Sister Gerry Golden to Cochran Field Church of God, 7765 Hawkinsville Road, Macon, GA 31206.
