Gladys Z. Britton

January 30, 1936 — August 24, 2018

Early on the morning of Friday, August 24, 2018, Gladys Zell Malone Britton, 82, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven after living a blessed life with her husband, William Henry Britton, Sr.

Born January 30, 1936 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Willie Malone and Lizzie Lee Chancy Benson, Mrs. Britton was fortunate to live in many states as she spent her life living in Foxworth, Mississippi, Ohio, and New York before moving to Warner Robins, Georgia four years ago. A Catholic woman of faith, she loved life, laughter, and cooking. Her greatest source of joy was time spent with her loving family. Her parents, brother Tommy Benson of Ohio, and grandson Ril Beatty preceded her in death, all of whom she cherished dearly.

Her memory of joy, laughter, and love will forever be treasured by her adoring husband of sixty-two years, William Henry Britton, Sr.; her daughters, Debbie Britton, Patricia Thomas (Richard), and Henrietta Middlebrooks; her son, William H. Britton, Jr.; her grandchildren, Tawanda, Charles, Andricka, William, Richard, and Rashad; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Love Benson of Ohio; her sister in law, Ruby Benson; her best friend of more than sixty years, Roberta Watkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Visitation with Mrs. Britton’s family will be Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, 417 S. Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088, followed by her Homegoing Celebration at 2:00 p.m. in the McCullough Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Jim Hunt of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. Mrs. Britton will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery, 205 S. Pleasant Hill Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088. These funds can be made payable to McCullough Funeral Home with “Gladys Britton Memorial Fund” written in the memo line.
