Glennis Argo Cook

Glennis Argo Cook, age 83, passed away on May 14, 2020, at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA.

Glennis was born in Atlanta, GA to Charles and Evelyn Argo of Smyrna and graduated from Campbell High School.

During Glennis’s early career, she worked at the Georgia State Capitol, Riches, and Sears, in the “Old Sears Building”. Her hobbies were cake decorating and square dancing, where she met life-long friends. Having five children, Glennis baked all of their birthday cakes. She learned how to bake elaborate birthday and wedding cakes which quickly moved from a hobby to being a caterer for weddings and parties. During her career life, she worked at bakeries and food venues, fulfilling her passion. She finally retired from Publix at the age of 66. During her retirement years at her home in Rockmart, GA, she enjoyed working in her yard where she grew and tended to her roses.

Glennis was a member of Legacy Baptist Church in Dallas, GA. She loved her church family and enjoyed cooking and serving food at church events.

Glennis was preceded in death by her parents, who settled in Rockmart, and her only brother, Charles Argo, of Ellijay.

Glennis is survived by her beloved children, Joe Susko (Simone) of Marietta, Chuck Susko (Connie) of Warner Robins, Karen Susko of Villa Rica, Kevin Cook (Lynn) of Rockmart, and Robin Cook (Selena) of Hiram. She loved her grandchildren, Meghan Compton (Jordon), Reyna Trevino, Wyatt Cook, Mason Cook, Hayden Cook, Cole Cook, and Reece Cook. She had two beautiful great-grandchildren, McKinley Cook and Knox Cook.

A graveside celebration will be held at Kennesaw Memorial Park at a later date, due to restrictions of the coronavirus.
