Gwendolyn B. Hawk

Gwendolyn B. Hawk, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 09, 2004 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Memorial services for Mrs. Hawk will be held at a later date in Akron, Ohio.

Mrs. Hawk was born January 21, 1919 in McDougal, Arkansas and in following years moved to Akron, Ohio where she attended Akron University. She lived and worked in the Akron area and was retired from an Executive Secretarial position with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Mrs. Hawk participated in various garden clubs, was a former Girl Scout Leader, and was a member of the American Federation for Women. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren. Preceding her in death are her husband, Dale F. Hawk; mother, Cleo Marrow Barnes; brother, Ralph Barnes; and sister, Ann Brubaker.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Carol and Glynn Hooks, Byron, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Paula Hawk, Akron, OH; daughter and son-in-law Cathy and John Dix, Cuyahoga Falls, OH; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
