Gwendolyn M. Prater, 90, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 18, 2012.

Mrs. Prater was born on October 2, 1922 in Wellston, Georgia to the late Philip Marshall and Susie Claire Ammons Marshall. She was a devoted member of Second Baptist Church where she served as Secretary and a Kindergarten Teacher. In addition to her parents, her two brothers and three sisters, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Golden L. Prater.

Mrs. Prater is survived by her daughter, Claire Prater Page and husband Charles, Pensacola and Michael Barry Prater, Warner Robins; grandchildren, Christopher and Marshall Page, and Jesse and John Prater; great-grandchildren, Michael Prater, Kaiden Prater, Miles Page, and Riley Prater; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
