Gysgt. Clarence Robert "Tex" Davis, Usmc (Ret.)

July 19, 1931 — November 10, 2019

Clarence Robert “Tex” Davis, 88, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 10, 2019.

Tex was born on July 19, 1931 in Beaumont, Texas, to the late Alvin Q. Davis and Elizabeth Bradberry. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 21 years during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War; he retired having attained the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Tex also retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 20 years of service. Tex loved participating with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots and the Marine Corps League in Warner Robins. He was also an avid reader, enjoyed making wine, and made excellent homemade jelly preserves. Christ United Methodist was his church home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Dianne Flowers; and his brother, Paul Bradberry.

Tex’s memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Victoria “Vicky” Davis of Bonaire; children, Robert Eugene Davis (Arlene) of Byron, Theresa (Davis) Lee of Kathleen, and Audrey Davis (Johnathan Clayton) of Bonaire; son-in-law, Lindsay Flowers, Sr. of Atlanta; grandchildren, Lindsey Flowers, Jr., Jessica (Flowers) Hackney (David), Ashley Lee, Austin Lee, Alex Lanier, Kathryn Lanier and Ansley Lanier; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Brown, Jetson Hackney, Bowen Lee Durkota, Lydda Lanier, Andrew Lanier and Lawson Lanier; brother, Alvin “Bo” Davis, Jr.; and sisters, Ann and Lynda Davis.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 12, 2019, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Kirk Hagan and Reverend Tommy Martin officiating. After the service, Tex will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

The family will accept flowers or memorial donations be given in memory of Tex Davis to the Hazel Colson Hospice House, 1120 Morningside Dr., Perry, GA 31069.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
