Harold Jerome Lewand

Harold Jerome Lewand, 92, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in Mesa, Arizona where he lived for the past four years.

Mr. Lewand was born on February 11, 1919. A veteran of WWII, he served in the United States Army as a Technician 5th Grade, Battery D, 918 Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. He was employed at Robins Air Force Base writing computer programs until his retirement. Mr. and Mrs. Lewand were the owners of Hargay Dolls and Collectibles which was first opened in 1982 and was located in Warner Robins. In 2007, Harold moved to Mesa, Arizona with his daughter and son-in-law and re-opened Hargay Dolls and Collectibles where he continued running his business until his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gabrielle Constance Lewand.

Mr. Lewand is survived by his loving daughter, Renee Beers and son-in-law, Ken Beers; sister, Arlene McGrath; brother, John Lewand; four grandchildren, Renee Thomas, Yvonne Nolte, Daniel Nolte and Ken Beers Jr.; thirteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012 in Andersonville National Cemetery where his wife, Gabrielle, lies at rest.
