Harry S. "Rick" Rickenbacker

Harry S. "Rick" Rickenbacker, 95, entered into rest on Friday, January 17, 2014.

Rick was born on December 2, 1918, in Kinston, North Carolina. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Rick was a retired electrician with the Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a sixty-six year member of the IBEW. He was of the Baptist faith and an avid supporter of the Museum of Aviation. His wife, Alice Townsend Rickenbacker, and his parents, Herbert and Helen Rickenbacker, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter, Mary Downing (Bobby), Memphis, Tennessee; Ann Broom (Randy), Warner Robins; and Kay Broom, Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery in Charlotte, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon, GA 31201.
