Born and raised in Dooly County, Georgia, Helen graduated from Pinehurst High School where she played basketball and was the Salutatorian of the Class of ’49. Helen was a woman of faith and the heart of the Collins family. She and Bo shaped their family’s spirituality by their tireless Christian example. They founded Liberty Baptist Church in Warner Robins where Helen was a member. She enjoyed working outdoors keeping her yard and gardens. Helen was an excellent seamstress. Helen enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, and catering. She was renowned for her caramel cake. Her motto was “life is short, eat dessert first.”

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Charlie T. “Bo” Collins; her parents, Zeke and Lillian Everett; and her sister, Faye Kimbrough.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Linda Tillman (Bob) of Byron, Charlie T. Collins, Jr. (Debbie) of Georgetown, Georgia, Janet Svendsen (Andrew) of Pensacola, Florida and Jimmy Collins (Faith) of Perry; grandchildren, Rob Tillman (Brittni), Wade Tillman, Amy Moore (Eric), Noel Lewandowski (Justin), Garrett Svendsen, Courtney Lemons (Kyle) and Bryn Collins; great-grandchildren, Ella and Beau Moore, Fenn and Rowan Easom, and Whitley Lemons; and sisters, Ruth Cross, JoAnn Sparrow and Paula Moore.
