Helen Louise Hatfield

December 14, 1919 — March 4, 2018

Early on the evening of Sunday, March 4, 2018, Helen Louise Blancett Hatfield, 98, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven.

Mrs. Hatfield was born on December 14, 1919 in Crestline, Ohio to the late John Franklin and Flora McKim Blancett. A graduate of the White Cross School of Nursing, she served her community as a Registered Nurse at Houston Medical Center for more than 40 years. All Saints Episcopal Church is where she chose to worship her Savior each week that she was able. An avid reader with a wonderful sense of humor that would light up any room, Mrs. Hatfield enjoyed sewing, knitting, and minding her greenhouse in her spare time. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Warren K. Hatfield; her son, Dr. John David Hatfield; her daughter-in-law, Linda Hatfield; her granddaughter-in-law, Sarah Roberts; and her sister, Ida Perman.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Warren Keith Hatfield of Perry, Cynthia H. Roberts (Karl) of Midland, Georgia, and Susan Gilbert (Montie) of Phenix City, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Dr. Deborah Weider-Hatfield of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Lester Hatfield, Alex Hatfield, Shannon Hustick (Jeff), Ryan Roberts, Kelly Scott (Darren), and Montie Gilbert, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Sadie Westberry, Jackson Hustick, Lucy Scott, Harper Scott, and Savannah Hustick; brother, John Blancett; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service celebrating her life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Doctor Gary L. Abbott officiating. Following the service, Mrs. Hatfield will be laid to rest next to her husband in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
