Henry Maloy Phillips

July 9, 1923 — January 30, 2019

Henry Phillips joined his beloved wife of 68 years, Jean Phillips, in heaven, on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 30, 2019. He was 95 years old.

Born on July 9, 1923 in Milan, Georgia, Henry was the son of the late Charlie O. and Dessie Dell Phillips. He honorably and nobly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base with 30-plus years of dedicated service. Henry was a charter member of the First Assembly of God, as well. His tireless Christian example shined as he loved volunteering at the soup kitchen and in ministry at Warner Robins Rehab and Nursing Center for 40 years. Henry also enjoyed gardening in his free time, but spending time with family was where he was happiest.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his son, John Maloy Phillips; and his brothers, Earnest, Herman, and Cecil Phillips.

Henry’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving daughters, Kathryn Phillips Berrong (Lawton) of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Sheila Phillips Powell (Ron) of Macon; grandchildren, Sonya Marie Martin, Sharon Vanessa Morgan, Cherry Lynn Phillips, Michael Berrong, Craig Berrong, and Brooke Powell Lynch; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Ott Phillips of Warner Robins.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 2, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Bishop Ronald Powell officiating. Following the service, Henry will be laid to rest next to Jean in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Phillips’ arrangements.
