Hilma Mclendon Hamm

Hilma McLendon Hamm, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

Mrs. Hamm was born on February 23, 1927 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Elry L. McLendon and Ruth Limeburger McLendon. She was a devoted Christian and an active member of Westside Church of Christ in Warner Robins, Georgia. Mrs. Hamm enjoyed teaching Sunday School and had a compassionate heart. Her giving spirit could be compared to a modern day Florence Nightingale. Mrs. Hamm was a loving mother, mother in-law and a wonderful homemaker. Her greatest hobby was being outdoors and working in her garden but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hamm was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayton A. Hamm; her son, Clayton Vance Hamm; and her brother, Raymond McLendon.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children; Wayne Hamm (Desie), Linda K. Pounds (Gerald), and Susan G. Toole; grandchildren, Tammy, Mark, Kenny, Diana, Jonathan, Timothy, Angela, Jeremiah, and Brandon; great-grandchildren; Tyler, Cody, Jaydin, Jackson, Riley Grace, Gabriel, Noah, and Skyler; siblings, Wallace McLendon, Norman McLendon, Carolyn Broadwell, Cliff McLendon, Freida Tyson, and Roy McLendon.

Visitation will be Friday, December 14, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm. on Saturday, December 15, 2018 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterwards, Mrs. Hilma McLendon Hamm will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
