Hoang Van Tran

July 13, 1948 — August 7, 2022

Hoang Van Tran entered into rest on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at the Hazel Colson Hospice House in Perry.

Born and raised in Can Tho, Vietnam, Hoang joined the Vietnam military and served alongside the United States in the Vietnam War until 1975. After his time in the military, Hoang farmed fruits and vegetables in his homeland. In 2008, he moved to the United States of America and worked in a number of restaurants and in construction until his retirement in 2019. He enjoyed gardening, shopping, and drinking with friends.

Hoang was preceded in death by his wife, Dinh Ngoc Lang; and mother, Hanh Tran.

His memory will forever be treasured by children, Tran Diem Trang, Tran Thanh Hung, Tran Thi Diem Huong (Hai Vu) and Tran Thanh Sang; grandchildren, Dang Vu, Nguyen Tran, Nhi Tran, Ngoc Tran; great-grandchild, Ngan Tran; and father-in-law, Iuoc Nguyen.

A prayer service will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
