Ione Lea Meadows

Ione Meadows, 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of Tuesday, December 6, 2016.

Ione was born on December 17, 1936 in Conroe, Texas to the late Harry Lee and Camilla Hall Steele. She was a self-employed seamstress who loved canning, gardening and reading. Ione was also a huge collector of knick-knacks. Of the Baptist faith, her true passion in life was helping others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Henry C. Meadows, as well as a number of siblings.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Floyd Rowe (Molly) of Alamo, Tennessee, Charlene Staley (Tony) of Warner Robins, Richard Ray of Perry, Ava Hines of Huntsville, Alabama, and Mark Ray of Perry; stepson, Phillip Meadows (Carolyn) of Warner Robins; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Ione will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
