Iverson D. Golden, Jr.

Iverson Duggan Golden, Jr., 60, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2007.

Mr. Golden was born on February 5, 1947 in Milledgeville, Georgia. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. A 1965 graduate of Perry High School, Ike won many local and state Future Farmer of America awards. After attending Middle Georgia College and Mercer University, he served seven years in the United States Air Force as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist. He returned to Warner Robins to work for thirty six years as a civil servant at Robins Air Force Base before recently retiring from the 752nd Combat Sustainment Group (working Global Positioning Systems worldwide). While in the Air Force, Ike met his wife Shirley and together they had three children. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandkids: coaching sports, gardening, fishing, and flying model airplanes. His parents, Iverson Duggan Golden, Sr. and Mildred A. Golden, preceded him in death.

He will be missed by his loving wife of thirty six years, Mrs. Shirley Golden, Bonaire; children, Michelle Conley (Nate), Tampa, FL; Tonya Gernatt (Andrew), Mount Vernon; Iverson Golden, III, Warner Robins; grandchildren, Johnathan, Heather Rose, and AJ, brothers, Kenny Golden (Judiane), Milliken, CO; Bobby Golden (Lynn), Atlanta; sister, Margaret Stewart(David), Charleston, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
