James Calvin Poole

On Thursday, April 1, 2021, James Calvin Poole joined his beloved wife, Clara Rose Foster Poole, two of their children, Rhonda Poole Hooker and Jimmy Ray Poole, and several others in Heaven who passed away before him.

Born on November 2, 1934, in Scott, Georgia, James was the son of the late Ezra Stephens and Laura Smith Poole. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran where he served as a Military Policeman and he later enjoyed a long and rewarding career with Boeing. Following his time with Boeing, he began work at Lithonia Lighting from which he retired. James was a car enthusiast and enjoyed spending his time working on home projects for his family.

In addition to his wife, children, and parents, James was also preceded in death by his siblings, William Miller, Gladys Campbell, Darthy Grant and Ada-Mae Townsend.

Those left to cherish James’s memory are his loving children, Donna Poole of Bonaire, Brenda Bruno (Steven) of Fort Valley and Cynthia Bradley (Richard) of Byron; grandchildren, Brandy Cook, Nikki O’Connor, Chad Smith, Kristen Dorsett, Christopher James Poole, Jessica Shine, Alan Bradley, Samuel Roach, Sean Bruno and Seth Bruno; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lillian Mimbs, Iola Covington, Georgia Smith and Russell Stephens; and a number of adoring nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will take place in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home on Monday, April 5, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. James will be laid to rest next to his wife, Clara, the following day in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of James to Encompass Home and Health Hospice, 319 Margie Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
