James “Johnny” Walter Johnson

August 28, 1932 — November 23, 2021

James “Johnny” Walter Johnson passed away on the morning of Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, Georgia.

Born in Sparta, Georgia, on August 28, 1932, Johnny was the son of the late George M. and Ethelyn Johnston Johnson. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Johnny continued his service to the United States by working as a civilian on Robins Air Force Base after his military career ended.

In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Laurine Swain Johnson; stepdaughter, Sharon Daniel; and grandchildren, Rachel and Cameron.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Jennifer Merritt (Carl) of Warner Robins; and Mark Johnson of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Alex Randall (Blake), Courtney Chambers (Josh), Emilee Tallman (Miranda), Madeline Merritt, Whitney Hinton (Kyle); 7 great grandchildren; special nephew, Buck Eubanks (Beth); as well as extended family members and friends.
Johnny will be laid to rest at a graveside funeral service on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in Magnolia Park Cemetery with Military Honors.
